Assistant Camp Director
The Assistant Camp Director provides direct assistance to the Director of Camp and Program to oversee all camp operations and supervision of up to 150 campers and 25 staff per week. The Assistant Camp Director directly supervises the unit directors and assists with the supervision of all counselors. He/she works closely with the Activities Director to ensure that unit directors and counselors are providing a quality camp experience for girls. The Assistant Camp Director communicate regularly with parents, staff and campers. A qualified candidate will have demonstrated leadership qualities, organizational skills, effective communication skills, and experience working with children or camping services and program development. Completion of two or more years of college is preferred. Minimum age of 21 years. Mature and responsible character traits and the ability to live and work with children in a fast-paced outdoor environment. Salary-$2,400-2,700, plus room and board provided.
Retail Coordinator
Responsible for the operations of the camp store and management of the camp’s online photos and newsletters. Works cooperatively with the Activity Coordinator and Unit Directors to organize daily schedules for store hours and photography. Keeps track of inventory and maintains camper and staff balances and receipts. Maintain ongoing communication with Director of Camp and Program regarding sales and remaining inventory. Must ensure accurate money transactions and complete daily reports. Experience with uploading photos and photography a plus. Minimum age of 18 years. Mature and responsible character traits and the ability to live and work with children in a fast-paced outdoor environment. Salary $2100-2,300 plus room and board available.
Activity Coordinator
The Activity Coordinator provides coordination for camp's daily activities, special events, and programming including out of camp excursion trips, campfires and guest presenters. Under the direction of the Director of Camp and Program, the Activity Coordinator is responsible for overall activity facilitation, quality and implementation. He/she will work closely with the Assistant Camp Director, Waterfront Director and Unit Directors to develop camper schedules and supervise daily operation of the activities including camper supervision. A qualified candidate will have demonstrated leadership qualities, organizational skills, effective communication skills, and experience working with children or camping services and program development. Completion of one or more years of college is preferred. Minimum age of 21 years. Mature and responsible character traits and the ability to live and work with children in a fast-paced outdoor environment. Preferred certification in lifeguarding, and archery instruction. Salary-$2,400-2,700 plus room and board provided.
Waterfront Coordinator
The Waterfront Director is responsible for providing safe aquatic activities including swimming and boating activities at a lake, river and pool. Demonstrated leadership qualities and experience working with children or camping services is preferred. Experience supervising aquatic facilities, staff, and programs. Responsible for supervision of about 10 lifeguards. Also responsible for daily care of pool care which includes monitoring pool water chemistry through testing of water samples. Works closely with Property Manager to ensure proper pool maintenance is care for. Completion of one or more years of college is preferred. Minimum age of 21 years. Current certifications in Lifeguarding, Professional CPR, First Aid. LGI and W.S.I a plus. Minimum two years lifeguarding experience preferred with experience in lifeguard management. Must be available to lifeguard during the week, as well as weekends. Mature and responsible character traits and the ability to live and work with children in a fast-paced outdoor environment. Counselor (10) Counselors work in teams of 2-3 co-counselors under the direct supervision of a unit director. A counselor is responsible for providing supervision to a group of 12-24 girls between the ages of 6-16. A counselor is also responsible for leading and assisting in daily camp activities. Counselors ensure the health and safety of the campers and monitors camper behavior, hygiene, schedules, and character and skill development. A successful candidate will have leadership qualities, experience working with children and a comfort living and working in the out-of-doors. Minimum age 18 years. Mature and responsible character traits and the ability to live and work in a fast-paced outdoor environment Lifeguard certification is a requirement for all those able. Salary-$ 2,300-2,500 plus room and board provided.
Unit Coordinator (4)
A Unit Director is responsible for the overall support of the counselors and campers placed in her unit. She works closely with the counselors to insure the direction, leadership, safety and well-being of 28-46 campers ages 6-17. A Unit director also works closely with the Activity Coordinator to ensure campers and staff schedules are followed. A Unit Director must have a diverse skill set and be adaptive to minute-by-minute situations. Must be at least 21 years of age with previous camp experience and ability to work with children in a fast-paced outdoor environment. Lifeguard certification is a requirement for all those able, training is provided. Salary -$2,400-2,600 plus room and board provided.
Counselor-in-Training Coordinator
The Counselor-in-Training Director is responsible for the education, leadership, safety and well-being of the counselors-in-training, who are campers ages 14-17 years old for four weeks of the summer and will act as a Unit Coordinator for the other weeks. This person will direct a small group of girls that are interested in learning about the different jobs, want to perfect their outdoor skills and explore different ways of facilitating groups and making decisions together. The goal of the Counselr-in-Training sessions is for older girls to develop the necessary skills and maturity to become an effective leader at camp. The counselor-in training director will be developing the future leaders Camp Evelyn as well as establish positive qualities in these campers to help them create a positive impact in the world. The Counselor-in-Training Director must possess good leadership skills, organization and teaching abilities. Must be at least 21 years of age with previous camp experience and ability to work with children in a fast-paced outdoor environment. Lifeguard certification is a requirement for all those able, training is provided. Salary -$2,400-2,600 plus room and board provided.
Health Supervisor
Under the direction of the Director of Camp and Program, the Health Supervisor is responsible for the physical care of up to 150 campers and 25 summer staff each week. This person will collect and dispense all medication for campers and staff. He/she has a major role in the treatment of injuries and illness that occur during the summer camp session. They are also responsible for responding to all emergency situations and determining when to seek more advanced medical care. This person is responsible for recording all accident reports, medication reports, and assisting in contacting parents to inform them of medical conditions of campers. This person should posses a mature and responsible leadership style and enjoy working with children. He/she must have understanding of medication and have good organizational skills. Applicant must be willing work with the camp schedule providing health supervision during all camp sessions. Must be at least 21 years of age and be certified as Wisconsin RN, LPN, Athletic Trainer, EMT or First Responder. Current first aid and CPR certification. Instructor of first aid and CPR a plus. Salary-$2,400-3,700 plus room and board provided.
Head Cook
The Head Cook is responsible for all aspects of camp food service. This includes supervising a staff of three, ordering food and kitchen supplies, maintaining excellent food quality and ensuring its timely delivery, maintaining a sanitary kitchen, providing safety instruction. Applicant must be willing to work with the camp schedule providing three meals per day, six days per week for up to 175 people per week. Applicants should have extensive experience in food service management and cooking for large groups. Must be at least 21 years of age and must hold a current food handler’s certification. Salary-$3,000-4,000 plus room and board available.
Assistant Cook
The Assistant Cook is responsible for the preparation of three meals per day. Other responsibilities include keeping a sanitary kitchen, providing safety instruction and guidance to kitchen aids, storing food deliveries in an organized manner, and the maintenance of excellent food quality and timely meal delivery. Applicants should have experience cooking for large groups. Applicant must be willing work with the camp schedule providing three meals per day, six days per week for up to 175 people. Salary -$2,300-2,700 plus room and board available.
Kitchen Aide (2)
Kitchen aides are responsible for a variety of food oriented tasks in the camp kitchen. These include food preparation, cooking, and cleaning. Applicants should have a strong work ethic, willingness to be a team player, and must be at least 16 years of age. Previous food experience is a plus. Salary $2,100-2,300 plus room and board available.
