Camp Evelyn Preview Day
Camp Evelyn Preview Day (Saturday, May 19, 2012, 1:00-4:00 p.m.) is a great opportunity for girls and parents to experience the magic of Camp Evelyn firsthand. You will receive a guided tour of the grounds, meet the friendly staff, and spend some quality time sampling fun camp activities. It’s a great way to spend an afternoon with your family! We hope to see you there.
Types of Camp Offered During the Summer at Camp Evelyn
Resident Camp is a camping experience in which girls sign up as individual campers or go with a buddy or group of friends. The sessions range in length from one-night to twelve-nights. The girls and their counselors plan activities, and meals are generally prepared and served in the dining hall. The camp staff has all necessary trainings to carry out various types of outdoor programming.
Troop Camp provides a weekend camp experience catered to the whole troop. Girl Scout Advisors will register their troop and make arrangements for travel. Troops will be sharing the camp facilities and choosing the activities that they want to participate in. All sleeping arrangements and meals are provided. The camp staff takes care of most programming and troop advisors are responsible for the supervision of the girls.
Family Camp is a unique weekend camping experience where girls are able to participate in summer camp along with their adult relative. Multiple families will be sharing the camp facilities together and your family will select activities you want to do for the weekend. All sleeping arrangements and meals are provided. The camp staff takes care of all programming and adult relatives are responsible for the supervision of their own girls.
Day Sessions are a great way for girls in grades 1-5 next fall to gain independence and check out what camp is all about. There will be five day sessions at Camp Evelyn this summer so mark your calendars for June 15, July 2, July 3, August 20, and August 21. More information will be available in April.
