Girls can have fun with the other girls in their troop while selling cookies in a cookie booth setting. They can sell at local grocery stores, department stores, banks, or after Sunday worship services. Some troops have even set up booths within distance of a fast-food drive through. Advisors and girls pick their own location and make arrangements with the store owner or manager.
When scheduling a date for a cookie booth, obtain the name of the contact person at the place of business and make sure they write on the calendar the date and time you will be there, your name, phone number and troop number (Wal-Mart policy is outside sales only). Stick to the time you indicated as other troops may be planning a cookie booth after your time slot is complete.
Troops with five registered girl members may participate in a cookie booth.
Troop cookie sale managers order the cookie booth order with their troop order through the online ordering system e-budde.
Troops are advised to only order the top five selling varieties, Do-Si-Dos, Tagalongs, Trefoils, Samoas, and Thin Mints in any quantity. These five varieties ordered for booth sales that are in good condition may be returned in full cases. Other varieties should be ordered in limited quantities as they cannot be returned. Troop cookie sale managers should consider the total orders by variety of the girls in their troop as a guide to ordering cookie booth cookies.
Troops participating in booth sale receive troop proceeds of $0.65 per package sold. Troops who sell one case per registered girl in the troop may earn a certificate (maximum two certificates) for one night rental of one of the council overnight facilities (for troop use) or a certificate for a troop pool/lake party at Camp Evelyn during the summer. This is a troop activity - recognition will not be given to individual girls for cookie booth sales.
Girls participating in a booth sale may earn a patch, which can be purchased for $.50 each including shipping. Order online at Petals to Patches Shop.
