4.3.2. Outdoor Resources

Outdoor Resources

Are the girls you volunteer with excited about going outdoors? Maybe they’d like to get closer to nature, go on a hike, or plan a camping trip? Let’s make it happen!

Thanks to a grant from the Elliott Wildlife Values Project, we’ve created six introductory videos for volunteers focused on outdoor activities like setting up a campsite, camp cookery and how to enable the girls to lead in the out of doors. They are specially tailored for volunteers (or even older Girl Scouts) working with Daisies, Brownies, or Juniors.

There are six outdoor skill-building videos covering topics ranging from setting up a campsite to camp cookery to cleaning up—all to help you plan your outside adventures and get girls and adults excited about heading outdoors. What’s more, you can tap into Venture Out!, a unique resource that can help you make the outdoor experience more girl-led and gain new insights (or refresh what you already know) so you feel more confident leading more girls to engage with the outdoors.
