Wearing Success on Your Sash (or vest or tunic)

Your recognitions tell your story.  They show what you’ve learned, where you’ve been and what you have done.  They are a record of your adventures and accomplishments and are proudly displayed on your Girl Scout uniform. Each level in Girl Scouting you have the opportunity to complete three distinct “Journey’s” and earn awards of accomplishment.  Along your Girl Scout Journey you will also have the opportunity to earn different recognitions.  Here are just a few:

Daisy Learning Petals – girls Kindergarten and grade 1

 For Daisy and their friends, it’s all about learning the basics and the Daisy Learning Petals are designed to do just that.  These recognitions demonstrate that you have learned to be “Honest and Fair,” “Friendly and Helpful,” “Courageous and Strong,” and so much more. Brownie Try-Its – girls in grades 2 & 3

Just like the name says, these recognitions give you the opportunity to “Try-It.”  From creating art to learning about careers to making music, Brownie Try-Its encourage girls to explore and try new things. To learn more about Brownie recognitions click here. 

Junior Badges – girls in grades 4 & 5

Want to learn how to become a healthier you, how to take breathtaking photos or all the steps it takes to care for your pet?  Junior Badges will open the door for these opportunities and more.  As a Junior, your badges will span a wide variety of topics and go in-depth to give you a meaningful understanding of each subject. Cadette - girls in grade 6-8, Senior – girls in grade 9 & 10 and Ambassador – girls in grades 11-12

By the time you’ve reached this level in Girl Scouting you’ve already learned a lot, but there is still ground to cover.  Interest Projects are your chance to deeply explore the topics that interest you most.  Whether it’s computers, volleyball or the performing arts, you’ll find an Interest Project (or many) that will appeal to you, or to you and a group of your BFs. Religious Awards

Girl Scouts are encouraged to seek out and individually fulfill requirements for the particular religious awards offered by their own faith. We can support your efforts.  You will work with an advisor who might be a priest, minister, rabbi or other designated person who can assist you as you work toward this recognition.
