What is the Thin Mint Sprint?
The Thin Mint Sprint is actually 3 events. Lace up those shoes and enjoy a Tough Cookie 5K Trail Run. Hike or walk the Tagalong Trek Family Hike. Play on our Samoa 60 Family Fun Action Course on a beautiful September morning at Camp Evelyn near Plymouth, WI. Manitou Council encourages families to learn about the importance of a balanced, healthy lifestyle and to take the steps toward a new day of greater well-being.
How do I register for the race?
Register online or by clicking on the Thin Mint Sprint logo on the home page.
What are the entry fees and registration deadlines?
The Tough Cookie 5K Trail Run, the Tagalong Trek Family Hike and the Samoa 60 Family Fun Action Course are each $25.00 per person before August 15, increasing to $30.00 from August 15 to September 10.
Want to do two events? Do a Double - The combination of any two events is $45 per person before August 15. From August 15 to September 10 the price to do two events is $55.
Want to do all three events? Try a Triple - The price is $60 before August 15, raising to $70 August 15 to September 10.
Children 4 and under are free for the Tagalong Trek Family Hike and for the Samoa 60 Action Course.
Can I register the day of the event?
No. Registration is not available the day of event.
How do I know if I am registered?
A confirmation will be sent via email within 24 hours after you registered.
I registered but it’s not showing up on the website. What happened?
Please give the system up to 24 hours for any transaction. If after that time it is still missing please contact email@example.com with your name and confirmation numbers.
How old do you have to be to participate?
For the Tough Cookie 5K Trail Run participants must be nine years old and older.
For the Tagalong Trek Family Hike and the Samoa 60 Family Fun Action Course all ages are welcome.
Is the race timed?
The Tough Cookie 5K Trail Run is timed. Neither the Tagalong Trek Family Hike nor the Samoa 60 Family Fun Action Course are timed.
Do you mail out Race Packets?
No. Packets will be available the day of the race starting at 7:00 am.
Do you offer prize money?
No, but medals will be awarded to 1st,2nd and 3rd, place finishers of the Tough Cookie 5K Trail Run for each gender for the following age groups; 9-13, 14-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60+. As well as overall winners for 1st,2nd and 3rd place. Each paid participant will also receive a goody bag for participating in the Tough Cookie 5K Trail Run, or Tagalong Trek Family Hike, or the Samoa 60 Family Fun Action Course.
Where do I find the race results?
Race results will be posted on the Wall of Honor at the event and posted within 72 hours at www.gsmanitou.org.
What time should I get there for the race?
We encourage people to pick up race packets between 7:00 – 8:00 a.m. The Tough Cookie 5K Trail Run will start at 8:00 a.m. The Tagalong Trek Family Hike follows at 8:30 a.m.
I only want to participate in the Samoa 60 Family Fun Action Course. What time do I need to be present?
The Samoa 60 Family Fun Action Course starts at 10:30 a.m.
Do you offer Gear Check?
Are strollers, skateboards, scooters, bikes allowed on the course?
No. The trails through Camp Evelyn include some pavement, dirt paths and loose gravel.
Can I run or walk my dog?
Will there be a photographer?
There will not be a photographer taking photos for purchase. We will have an event photographer taking photos for Girl Scout use and those participating agree that their image is able to be used. We encourage participants, families and Girl Scout troops to also take their own pictures. You may share photos via Facebook or email.
Is there food after the race?
Water, snacks and of course Girl Scout cookies will be available after the event.
If I am injured and/or cannot attend the event can I get a refund or transfer my entry to someone else?
Your entry fee can be transferred to someone else but no refunds will be available. You are still eligible to pick up your race packet regardless of your participation.
Can I participate in more than one event?
Yes. Register to “Do a Double” and you can select to run the trail and then hike the trail, or run the trail run and participate in the action course, or hike and participate in the action course. Or you can "Try a Triple" and participate in all three events.
