Memory Collage to Celebrate the 100th Anniversary!

Juliette Gordon Low founder of Girl Scout: In Her Own Words:

“It is of paramount importance to teach the young citizen to assume responsibility for her own development and health.”Juliette believed that all girls should be given the opportunity to develop physically, mentally, and spiritually. With the goal of bringing girls out of isolated home environments and into community service and the open air, Girl Scouts hiked, played basketball, went on camping trips, learned how to tell time by the stars, and studied first aid.

Juliette Low devoted her life to the success of the Girl Scouts, even selling a strand of pearls for $8,000 to fund the early operations of the movement. Now you can carry on her dream by donating during the 100th anniversary.

Historical Merry Christmas

A Memory Collage will be on display at all of Manitou Council’s Girl Scout 100th anniversary exhibits.  The first exhibit opens on January 11, 2012 at the Wisconsin Museum of Quilts and Fiber Arts.  For a donation of $25.00 you can share a favorite Girl Scout memory, add a Girl Scout picture, or honor your Girl Scout troop leader or the girls in your troop.

Submit your Girl Scout memory or a Girl Scout photo and $25.00 to be included in celebrating 100 years of building girls of courage, confidence and character who will make the world a better place.
