It's a day to celebrate being a Girl Scout along with hundreds of your sister Girl Scouts from all around Wisconsin! In this active event, Girl Scouts will earn the Civic Engagement badge for their level by participating in activity stations throughout the Capitol. Some of these stations include meeting with local legislators and organizations, learning about our rights and responsibilities as citizens of our state, gaining skills to be a civic leader, and exploring our state's history in the awe-inspiring Capitol building. We'll rally and make some noise around the Capitol Square. You'll leave feeling empowered and inspired!
This event is for all Girl Scouts levels & adults and takes place at the State Capitol Building in Madison. The cost is $25 per girl and $5 per adult. It is hosted by our sister Girl Scout Council, Girl Scouts of Wisconsin Badgerland.
Badge/Patch: Girl Scout Day at the Capitol Patch, Daisy Good Neighbor Badge, Brownie Celebrating Community Badge, Junior Inside Government Badge, Cadette Finding Common Ground Badge, Senior Behind the Ballot Badge, and Ambassador Public Policy Badge
Girl Scouts will participate in a passport style program to earn their civic engagement badges.
10:00am - 1:00pm - Stations throughout the State Capitol
1:00am - 1:30pm - Influential Women in Civic Engagement Speakers
1:30am - 2:00pm - Girl Scout Rally around the Capitol Square!
Snacks/Food are not allowed inside the Capitol based on regulations from the WI Dept. of Administration.
Bring a packed lunch for the lawn or plan to eat at one of the nearby restaurants.
This event is not a drop-off event; adults to meet safety ratios and to enjoy the program.
Dress appropriately for the weather as we will be marching around the Capitol Square to show our love for Girl Scouts! Wear comfortable shoes and your Girl Scout uniforms.
