Although many are studying or working in fields such as education, psychology, sociology, recreation, social work, and more, they are chosen primarily for their keen interest and ability to work with children in a camp setting.
To prepare for the summer, staff go through background checks, an interview process, and take part in an intensive 12-day pre-camp training period that covers various topics that include, but are not limited to, emergency procedures, CPR/First Aid/AED/Lifeguarding, waterfront safety, homesickness, and more.
Below are a few camp staff that cannot wait to see you this summer!
Daisy is extremely excited for her fourth summer as the Director of
Camp and Program! Daisy also worked at camp for many years prior to
taking the position of Director of Camp and Program. She can't get
enough of camp! Before she became the Director of Camp and Program,
Daisy taught special education students. She has a dual degree in
elementary and special education, and over the years has developed a
lot of strategies for working with kids in the school and camp
setting. In her free time, Daisy loves to paint, read, roller blade,
and camp. She can't wait to see what this summer will bring and looks
forward to working with staff to create a fantastic summer for the
campers.
J.A.R.V.I.S. will be returning to camp for a second summer. This
summer she will be taking on the position of Waterfront Coordinator.
She has years of experience working at her local aquatic center and
also served as a lifeguard last summer at camp. Some of her favorite
activities include drawing, listening to music, and taking long naps
with her dog, Odin. She is excited to spend time outside in the sun
making happy memories.
