Where to find a class:

Many community organizations such as hospitals, clinics, fire departments, and technical colleges offer first aid and CPR courses to the general public. Sometimes organizations will even set up a class just for you if there is a small group of students wishing to take the class. American Heart Association and The Red Cross offer an online/blended course which may be a great option if you cannot find a class.

Girl Scouts of Manitou Council will be offering three blended learning (in-person and online) First Aid/CPR/AED classes this spring at the Girl Scout Center in Sheboygan.

This American Heart Association course contains step-by-step, hands-on training that allows participants to respond effectively in emergency and life-threatening situations. There will be an online portion that you will need to complete in full before attending one of the scheduled in-person skills training. Once registered you will receive an email with the requirements for certification.

Capacity: 8

Cost: $60.00

Dates: Saturday, April 12 | 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
Saturday, May 10 | 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

Price includes all materials needed to be certified in American Heart Association First Aid/CPR/AED including an Adult/Child & Infant CPR Mask in a Soft Case.

Upon completion, you will receive a two-year certification through the American Heart Association in the form of a digital certification.

Please wear comfortable clothing. You will be practicing skills that require working on your hands and knees, bending, standing, and lifting.

The Heartsaver® Total-Heartsaver Adult, Pediatric & Infant First Aid/CPR/AED Blended Learning course contains step-by-step, hands-on training that allows participants to respond effectively in emergency and life-threatening situations.

Successful completion of the full Heartsaver® Total-Heartsaver Adult, Pediatric & Infant First Aid/CPR/AED Blended Learning course includes these parts:

Part 1: Purchase Heartsaver® First Aid CPR Student Workbook or eBook.
Part 2: Purchase & complete the Heartsaver® Total-Heartsaver First Aid/CPR/AED Online Course.
Part 3: Complete a hands-on skills practice session with an American Heart Association Instructor shortly after completing the online course. Fees may apply.
Part 4: Complete an in-person exam with an American Heart Association Instructor shortly after completing the online course. Fees may apply.

Students who complete all of these steps will receive a Heartsaver Adult, Pediatric & Infant First Aid/CPR/AED certification valid for two years.

Red Cross

Red Cross offers an online/blended course which may be a great option if you cannot find a class. Red Cross is a partner of Girl Scouts of the USA, so oftentimes there are adiscounted classes for being affiliated with Girl Scouts.

Red Cross Pediatric and Adult First Aid CPR AED Online/Blend Ed:

The Red Cross' Pediatric and Adult First Aid CPR AED Online Part 1 Course is a blended learning course that contains information on how to respond to and manage illnesses and injuries in children and adults in the first few minutes until professional help arrives. This course provides a one-stop shop for adult and pediatric first aid, CPR, and AED training needs for child care providers and professionals in the community.

Successful copletion of the full Heartsaver Pediatric First Aid CPR AED Course includes two parts:

Part 1, Red Cross Adult and Pediatric First Aid CPR AED online course
Part 2, a hands-on skills practice session and hands-on skills test with an authorized Red Cross instructor within 90 days.

After you successfully complete both parts, you will receive a Red Cross Pediatric and Adult First Aid CPR AED course completion card, valid for two years.

The skill session is sold separately and must be completed within 90 days of completing the online Part 1.
