Girl Scout Leah from Troop 8585 attended the National Girl Scout Convention in Washington DC for the three-day UNITE event over the summer!
While at this epic event, Leah got to be part of the National Bridging Ceremony on stage, bridging from Girl Scout Brownie to Girl Scout Junior. She earned her Democracy for Juniors badge while at the United State Capitol Building. She earned her Detective badge while at the International Spy Museum. And she earned her Playing the Past badge with at the Ford Theatre.
She also had fun with a Washington DC scavenger hunt patch by finding 10 hidden treasures (favorite places of locals), one of which was the Juliette Gordon Low Historical Marker.
Thousands of Girl Scouts from all over the globe attended Girl Scouts UNITE. The event featured an exciting lineup of speakers, performers, workshops and sessions reflecting on the confidence, creativity, and resilience at the heart of Girl Scouting. Attendees also had access to more than 100 booths and activities in the Hall of Experiences, along with programming designed for Girl Scouts and adults. The event also included major celebrations such as the National Bridging Ceremony, the Gold Award Celebration, community-building moments, and opportunities for Girl Scouts to meet and connect with inspirational leaders who are taking action in their communities.
Girl Scouts looks forward to seeing everyone again in Indianapolis for the next Girl Scouts Unite event in 2029! You don't want to miss it!
