Girl Scouts offers many ways that girls and their troops can go out and explore the world! Whether they stay local, travel to a different state, or even bring Girl Scouts international – there is a destination for everyone.
One of our troops wanted to travel somewhere warm so they could relax and enjoy everyone’s company. What better place to relax than visiting Myrtle Beach in South Carolina! Troop 8960 from Sheboygan traveled to South Carolina in June and stayed for five days. These five days brought many memories and adventures!
During their five day stay, they did a wide variety of activities to make their moments count! Of course, since they were right on the Atlantic Ocean, they had to stay by the water! One activity by the water they did was paddleboarding. In true Girl Scout fashion, they decided to go above and beyond and challenge themselves to take the next step up – surfing! To end their days by the water, they got to go on a sunset dolphin cruise!
Back on land, they continued to have so many other adventures. Troop 8960 went on the wild side and took up axe throwing. They also got to be the detective when they went to a murder mystery themed dinner! Finally, we can’t forget that they got to explore all the fun shops in Myrtle Beach and got to pick up some souvenirs!
To be able to really remember their trip for the rest of their time as Girl Scouts, Troop 8960 had professional photos taken while they were traveling! Check out some of the fun that they had on their trip!
To go on this awesome trip, these Girl Scouts went above and beyond to make it happen. They knew that they wanted to take a trip that was further away, but they also knew that they had to work hard to do so. For multiple years, this troop worked very hard at their cookie sales. They were able to practice their entrepreneur skills to sell cookies, and they practiced money management to save up the funds. Along the way, they kept close track on the sales and were able to make a strict budget and goal for their plans. Their hard work paid off, because they got to go on a once in a lifetime trip.
If your troop went on a fun trip, email information and photos to cassie@gsmanitou.org to be featured on our Girl Scouts of Manitou media such as our website, digital magazines, social media, and more.
